This piece is approximately 5" at it's largest diameter and 13" long. The rim is Ebony while the main body is turned from Big Leaf Maple Burl. The stand if made from walnut. This piece represents my first serious hollow turning.  It was inspired by the images I've seen of amphora vases recovered from the wreckages of ancient Greek ships.  I truly like the way this one came out.
